All Bluegiga products enable integrators and OEM's to create systems that meet the HIPAA requirements.

The HIPAA Act was enacted by the US Congress in 1996 to protect families and provide continued health coverage if they changed or a job. This is Title I. In addition to Title I, Title II added protection for all forms of personal data including stored or electronically transmitted.

It is up to the end product user to be HIPAA compliant. I.E. the doctor office, health club, or anyone collecting or transmitting personal health information. The Bluegiga health and medical Bluetooth modules and access devices will assist the integrator and OEM in meeting the requirements. All of the usual cases: encryption, authentication, scrambled data.
