Bluegiga Releases New Version of iWRAP Software

New Bluetooth 1.2 Certified Version of the WRAP THOR Module Software Significantly Extends the Functionality of the Markets Simplest Bluetooth Command Interface

Espoo Finland April 19, 2005 - Bluegiga Technologies, Inc., a leading provider of Bluetooth platforms to system integrators and original equipment manufacturers, today announced the next version of its iWRAP software, the markets simplest Bluetooth command interface.  Previously called ASCII Interface, the new version of iWRAP provides WRAP THOR Bluetooth Module customers with advanced new features further raising the bar for versatility, performance and interoperability.

Certified to conform to Bluetooth Special Interest Groups Bluetooth 1.2 specification, and being fully backwards compatible with the previous ASCII Interface version 2.0.0, the new iWRAP 2.0.2 provides its users with significantly shortened connection establishment times for faster Bluetooth networking, easier end user installations by improved tolerance for radio frequency interference caused by other Bluetooth and WiFi devices through utilization of adaptive frequency hopping, increased throughput to improve the performance of data heavy applications, and lower power consumption to enable longer usage time between charges in battery powered handheld devices.  iWRAP 2.0.2 also supports several new simplified commands to manage and control WRAP THOR modules through the interface.

Bluegiga has always been the fore runner in providing easy-to-use and easy-to-integrate Bluetooth solutions and services for original equipment manufacturers and system integrators.  With this latest version of iWRAP, we provide our customers with advanced new features and functionality that very well meet their needs for faster, more versatile, but yet less power consuming wireless technology, comments Sami Ahvenniemi, the CEO of Bluegiga.
