BlueGiga Technologies in financing agreement with Tekes, the National Technology Agency of Finland
HELSINKI
May 30, 2001: BlueGiga Technologies, a technology company providing a fully embedded, complete hardware and software platform based on the Bluetooth wireless technology, located in Espoo and Turku, Finland and Stockholm, Sweden, announced today a �670,000 non-equity financing agreement with Tekes, the National Technology Agency of Finland. The funding agreement with Tekes is part of the Electronics for the Information Society (ETX) technology programme where BlueGiga was accepted as a member previously this year. The financing decision follows a stringent evaluation process by Tekes based on BlueGiga's competitiveness and growth potential, competitive advantages of the company's technology solutions, company's resources and how the Tekes financing will influence the product development project.
"Tekes grants and risk loans will speed up the R&D; work done in BlueGiga Technologies and make it possible to implement the first prototypes and test equipment for the piloting customers in a rapid pace", says Juha Miikka Tanskanen, Senior Technical Adviser at Tekes. "In the project, BlueGiga Technologies will manufacture equipment for emerging markets where there is an obvious need for the technology and the company's products. As an outcome of this project, Bluegiga Technologies can offer flexible and total solutions for several customer segments. Their product family has a high integration level, which is very important and one of BlueGiga Technologies's advantages."
