BlueGiga
announces BlueGiga announces new WRAP(TM) Installation Point application
for Symbian and Java mobile phones
BlueGiga, a Finnish company developing and marketing wireless local-area
network technology products, is releasing an Installation Point application
for all Bluetooth-enabled mobile phones running Symbian and Java. The
released Installation Point application can be run on company's WRAP (Wireless
Remote Access Platform) Access Server products, offering companies a quick
and easy method for distributing Symbian and Java mobile phone applications
to end-users. The installation methodology for end-users is extremely
simple: send business card - receive application - use application.
The Install Point application in the BlueGiga WRAP Access Server can automatically
distribute any Symbian or Java phone applications, such as location-specific
information, Java games etc. to mobile phone users after the user sends
a Business Card over Bluetooth from the mobile phone to a WRAP Access
Server. "The most suitable market for this application are companies
distributing or looking a way to distribute Symbian or Java applications
for users mobile phones directly without using public networks. Even industrial
companies could utilize the inherent simplicity of the Installation Point
by integrating a man-machine interface for controlling or monitoring some
industrial device with these new smart mobile telephones," says BlueGiga
General Manager Tom Nordman.
More
information concerning the WRAP Installation Point application can be
found at https://www.bluegiga.com. The WRAP Installation Point application
for BlueGiga WRAP Access Server is available in July 2003.
