Bluegiga Releases 4.0 Software Version for Access Server and Access Point

Bluegiga Technologies Inc., a leading provider of
Bluetooth platforms to system integrators and original equipment manufacturers, announced today a new software version for its Access Server and Access Point product family.
The new 4.0 software version has improved driver support for several GPRS/3G and Wi-Fi cards, and it introduces new features for ObexSender, such as reduced logging, multiple file sending, and performance improvements. The new software version also contains a new mobile phone recognition database for
Bluetooth Proximity Marketing applications and also several improvements for content distribution functionalities.
The updated software includes the following major improvements:
- - Improved productsoftwareupdate mechanisms viaupdate.bluegiga.com
- - Bluetooth Proximity Marketing applications (ObexSender): New ObexSender phone database, sending multiple filesseparately at different times, improved logging and performance improvements
- - Support for Digital Pen and Paper solutions
- - Drivers for latest GPRS/3G modems and Wi-Fi dongles
- - Kernel updated from 2.6.25.9 to 2.6.27.11
- - Wi-Fi WPA/WPA2 support
- - New Software Development Kit (SDK)
The new software version 4.0 has some changes in programming interfaces and functions. All Developers must use the new SDK version and test their application compatibility with the 4.0 software.
