Bluegiga releases iWRAP4 for beta testing

Bluegiga releases the new iWRAP4 for its Bluetooth OEM Modules, offering the latest Bluetooth 2.1 + EDR standard, 12 Bluetooth profiles and many other new features.

Espoo, Finland, Friday, July 31, 2009 - Bluegiga's successful iWRAP firmware versions takes another significant step forward with Bluetooth 2.1 + EDR support. iWRAP4 is now available on request from [email protected] for Bluegiga’s WT11, WT12 and WT32 modules.

iWRAP4 implements the following new Bluetooth profiles:
• Phone Book Access Profile (PBAP) - Client mode
• OBEX Object Push Profile (OPP) - Client and server modes
• OBEX File Transfer Profile (FTP) - Client mode
• Headset Profile (HSP) - Headset and Audio-gateway modes
• Bluetooth Health Device Profile (HDP) - Sink and source modes*
• Proprietary Bluegiga IO profile (BGIO)

iWRAP4 will also have the following new features:
• Bluetooth Secure Simple Pairing (SSP)
• Improved A2DP voice quality
• Sniff subrating - improving the power consumption.
• Audio interface selection with iWRAP commands
• Audio codec configuration with iWRAP commands
• Alternative APT-x audio coding – improved voice quality and reduced latency*
• Clear Voice Capture (cVc) echo cancellation and noise suppression*
• 7 simultaneous Bluetooth RFCOMM connections
• Two simultaneous A2DP connections (WT32 only)
• Two simultaneous SCO connections (WT32 only)
• Improved MUX mode performance and stability
• Ringtone and beep generator (WT32 only)
