Bluegiga Announces General Availability of Its Cutting Edge WT12 Bluetooth Module

The latest addition to Bluegiga�s embedded Bluetooth product range, WT12 module offers extremely fast connection speeds and tolerance for other RF devices with minimal power consumption

Bluegiga Technologies, Inc., a leading provider of Bluetooth systems platform to system integrators and original equipment manufacturers, today announced the availability of its WT12, the latest addition to its range of Bluetooth hardware modules.  Incorporating CSR�s Bluecore4 chipset and supporting Bluetooth 2.0 specification with enhanced data rates, WT12 offers users with up to three times faster data speeds than with Bluetooth ever before simultaneously maintaining full backward compatibility with devices supporting only Bluetooth 1.1 or 1.2 versions.  Advanced frequency hopping technology combined with advanced channel signaling options make the WT12 perfect fit for products and environments where also WiFi transmitters exist.  WT12 is boosted with an integrated antenna and 8 megabits of external flash memory offering OEMs with extremely fast and easy path to develop their own end products with in-module custom applications.

WT12 comes equipped with Bluegiga�s iWRAPTM firmware enabling developers to take advantage of this powerful, extremely simple and easy to use command interface.  With iWRAPTM firmware, WT12 can either act totally autonomously, or be commanded by host system through software or directly through general purpose input output (GPIO) interface.  Optionally WT12 can be delivered with standard Host Command Interface (HCI) firmware for utilizing it as a low level radio through either UART or USB connection.
