Bluegiga provides Bluetooth -based wireless solutions that meet high quality standards and are secure, cost efficient, easy-to-integrate and simple to use. Bluegiga has been a contributing member of The Bluetooth SIG's Medical Working Group, which is responsible for creating the Bluetooth Health Device Profile.

The Health Device Profile (HDP) is an application profile that defines the requirements for qualified Medical and Health & Fitness device implementations. This profile is used for connecting data source devices, such as blood pressure monitors, weight scales, glucose meters, thermometers and pulse oximeters to data sink devices, mobile phones, laptops, computers and health appliances without requiring cables.
