Bluegiga Releases the Second Beta For Bluetooth Smart SDK v.1.1

October 17th 2012 - Bluegiga released the second beta for the Bluetooth Smart Software Development Kit (SDK) v.1.1., which is used for testing Bluegiga's BLE112 Bluetooth Smart Modules and BLED112 BluetoothSmart USB Dongles. The SDK can be downloaded free of cost from Bluegiga's Tech Forum (http://techforum.bluegiga.com). The upgraded SDK with its new features is based on our product users' valuable feedback.

The updated key features are:

• Improved application data throughput and added options for balancing throughput vs. power consumption
• Improved BGScriptTM performance to be 5-6 times faster than earlier
• Simultaneous Bluetooth Smart connections in master mode up to four
• Transparent serial cable replacement application for BLE112 and a reference App and source code for Apple iOS
• New graphical Bluetooth Smart software update tool (BLE update) for easy firmware compilation and installation
• Packet mode option added for significantly simplifying the hardware flow control when using BGAPI over UART
• Added PWM support up to 4-channels
• Many alterations and improvements done based on the received users' feedback

This is a release candidate for the official v.1.1 SDK and that is why we would highly appreciate your feedback on the SDK. The final v. 1.1 SDK version is aimed to be released at the end of this year.

For the BLE112 and BLED112 BluetoothSmart products, the 1.0.x software support will be continued and Bluegiga will support its customers if developing or going to production with it.
