Webinar : Building Wi-Fi Connected IoT Devices

14.01.2015

Wi-Fi is one of the most common methods for wireless connectivity. Based on the IEEE 802.11 standards, Wi-Fi technology provides secure, reliable and fast wireless connectivity. A Wi-Fi network can be used to connect electronic devices to each other, to the internet or to wired networks that use Ethernet technology. Wi-Fi technology is widely used in smart phone, PC, tablet and consumer devices but is also expanding into wireless audio, smart home and other applications.

This webinar gives a short introduction to the Wi-Fi technology and Bluegiga WF121 Wi-Fi Module and Software. The webinar also shows practical example how to build Wi-Fi enabled IoT devices.

Topics:

  • Short introduction to Wi-Fi technology
  • Short introduction to Bluegiga WF121 Wi-Fi Module and Wi-Fi Software
  • Developing Internet connected Wi-Fi devices with Bluegiga WF121 Wi-Fi Module
  • Questions and Answers

Bluegiga's Wi-Fi modules are ideal for embedded applications that require reliable, long range Wi-Fi connectivity in an easy to integrate surface mount package. Bluegiga's WF121 is a stand-alone Wi-Fi module providing fully integrated 2.4GHz 802.11 b/g/n radio, TCP/IP stack and a 32-bit micro controller (MCU) platform for embedded applications requiring simple, low-cost and low-power wireless IP connectivity. It also provides flexible peripheral interfaces such as SPI, I2C, ADC, GPIO to connect various peripheral interfaces directly to the WF121 Wi-Fi module.

The WF121 Wi-Fi module also supports end-user applications in the module’s 32-bit MCU, using a simple Bluegiga BGScriptTM scripting language and free-of-charge development tools. This eliminates need for an additional MCU and enables end users to develop smaller and lower cost Wi-Fi devices. The WF121 can also be used when an external MCU is required using Bluegiga’s BGAPI binary command API. The 802.11 access point and HTTP server functionality is also included for easy configuration and direct connection to phones, tablets, and PCs.
